Fabulous 40's
Sitting in a warm restaurant, sipping hot tea and having a fine chit chat with a friend of mine that works in the retail/fashion industry. She brought up some incredible points about women that I would like to share with you.
These days the lines have been crossed on how old or how young an outfit or style is. We have young elementary or middle school girls wearing short mini skirts with tall boots and low cut tops, we have older women buying items at teen clothing stores by the bundles and it seems like more and more women are asking, Am I really too old for this?
With the understandings of non-judgment and youth serums it seems silly for us to stick with the 'old' standards of how older women should dress, behave and look. I still think children in school are too young to try to look like they are in their 20's, they aren't mature enough to understand the consequences of older men looking their way. However, older women are seasoned in the workings of men and have earned their right to stay sexy well into their golden years. Why would we want to stop the turning of this new tide anyways. Isn't it nice to know that you can remain sexy and womanly beyond the years of what society in the past has deemed sexy or beautiful?
I say that this is the year to stop worrying if you are 'too old' to wear this outfit or that jewelry. It is time we all learn to really connect with our inner selves and wear what makes us feel truly happy, healthy, vibrant and young. I feel if we really connect with our true selves, and not try to impress others, we will find that our fashion shines regardless if we got it in juniors or the 'old lady' shop down the street. It is what is inside of you that helps the outfit show your true personality. Add color, add chunky watches, add flair - adorn yourself with the fun stuff that is attractive to YOU and for goodness sake - don't try to look like an airbrushed computer generated model in the magazines - that isn't real and it isn't truly attractive. Women are NOT products and we need to start seeing that. We are amazing Angels in Disguise with spunk and personality and we should be allowed to dress as such - even after society tells us otherwise.
Just because society says its true usually means it isn't.

Gobble up the Holidays
It's that time again - holidays. It can either be your favorite time or the most stressful time of the year. It's difficult to know when to start shopping, where to get the best deals, what to get Aunt Edna and Uncle Frank - I mean they already have everything don't they?
So this year I am opting for something unique, handmade (but handmade by someone else because really, who has the time anymore right?) Fashionable Texas
I just finished the "Heart of Texas Arts and Crafts show" last weekend in Texas. Most everyone knows about the watches in Utah, but in Texas that's a different thing. Had lots of fun educating women about the interchangable watches.
It got me thinking and wondering why would more women in Utah know about the watches then in Texas? And then I remembered the richness of arts and crafts in Utah. It is wonderful to me to see all of the creativity of women, especially in Utah where they are not only usually taught by their parents, but also by their community.
I'm so grateful to be a part of such an amazing place.

The Power of Pink
I am still in Texas having a great time with family and friends and making more and more unique Beautiful Beads Watches. I was so inspired with all of the Breast Cancer Awareness going on this month I decided to make several pink watches. What a great time I had making them in honor and in memory of those that have passed away from Breast Cancer and those who continually and courageously fight against it.
Everywhere I go people can spot the pink watches and instently recognize their value and worth as part of the 'pink' movement in October. I find hope and joy in knowing so many people are joining forces and combining efforts in order to help find a cure, not only for breast cancer, but for all cancer that effects our daily lives.

Road Trip!
Packing your bags, checking your lists, making sure the plan tickets and hotel room are all set up and ready to go. What a fun way to spend the day! And if that weren't enough to think about, you still have to continue working and getting regular things done around the house.
I am so excited to be able to go to Texas for a show and watch people get really excited about my Beautiful Beads watches. I have been in a fevered frenzy getting enough watches done for the event and I am proud to say - I DID IT! With a breath to spare, I was able to make enough watches for Texas as well as for my regular customers that love to buy my watches to match their outfits.

With the way these are flying out the window I'm excited to have so many to create! And the best part about the Beautiful Beads Watches is that I can custom create your ideal watch and I can change an existing watch to fit your specific size. You can also mix and match the watch heads to several different watch bands. One customer of mine, Tamra, already had 1 Beautiful Beads Watch and loves it, and she wanted to be able to change it up. She is picking out some different watch heads to go with the watch band to create different styles. But that wasn't enough for this Fashion Diva, she also took home 5 new Beautiful Beads Watches!

Why I love what I do
Some say creativity is the spice of life. Just as the great Barthold Georg Niebuhr said, "It is better to create than to be learned, creating is the true essences of life." As I sit there and ponder that quote I get so excited as I remember the first time I was introduced to creating my Beautiful Beaded Watches.
The story simply goes that I had a friend that wanted to teach me how to make watches. I avoided it for a while and then I remember thinking how much fun that might be after all. So I went and I had such a great time and I wanted to make more and more. Not only were they fun to make, I could make one to match every outfit I had. I felt I struck gold! And I did. But the gold that I struck isn't the gold that you might think it is. The gold is when I decided to start making them for others and how much joy it brought into their lives. That is the real gold I struck, the ability to create something so fun and so beautiful that brings joy to others.
